Eunice Kennedy Shriver 1921-2009

We mourn her passing. God celebrates her arrival. Together we carry on her vision. -http://www.eunicekennedyshriver.org

Eunice Kennedy Shriver passed away early this morning at the age of 88. She will always be remembered as an amazing and selfless woman who always treated everyone with respect and dignity and for her never ending charitable work. Most noteable in 1968, she helped Ann McGlone Burke nationalize the Special Olympics movement. An organization that has helped millions.
She was awarded the nation's highest civilian award, the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom, in 1984 by one of my mentors U.S. President Ronald Reagan.

To Write Love On Her Arms

I came across this AWESOME non-profit movement which is dedicated to helping and support people who are struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. I can only hope that anyone who is suffering from one of these diseases stumbles across this movement as I definitely think it would help them. Check out their website at www.twloha.com

"You were created to love and be loved. You were meant to live life in relationship with other people, to know and be known. You need to know that your story is important and that you're part of a bigger story. You need to know that your life matters." -TWLOHA

M.I.A

Oops sorry it's been awhile since I posted anything... what can I say, life has been busy! But now I have a TON of stuff to post so bare with me! First off here's some pictures from the Kelowna fires that started mid July, one of which is still burning and causing us to breath in smoke and ashes on a daily basis... yum.
